Summer 2009 will be upon us before we know it! This years theme is “All This For Our King” as you may have guessed from the new site layout. Feel free to leave your thoughts on the theme as a comment. Here is a quick thought about the theme.
All This For Our King—The kingdom of God is the society in which the will of God is established to transform all of life. God’s will is established in us when we trust Him to lead us and love us in all areas of life, rather than building our own little kingdoms of self-rule. It’s a leadership issue. Who are you following? Whose kingdom are you building? Whose kingdom are you living in? Jesus said, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.” What does it mean to live in this kingdom that Jesus ushered in? Why is Jesus the ultimate king? These are the questions we want to explore and the discoveries we want to make this summer.
I’m very excited for this theme. I would love be royalty, but as I look at my qualifications I realize how I fall short. I love the idea of being a child of a King, but I’m not so great at submitting to our King. I’m stoked to grow in this with everyone.
